Other attractions include the Castle of Good Hope, the Slave Lodge and the Company Gardens.

What to expect:

  • Collection: 08:00 am from Cape Town based hotel.
  • We start the early morning with a visit to Table Mountain, one of the seven wonders of the world. Depending on the weather conditions you can ride the cable car to the summit and enjoy breath-taking panoramic views of the city, harbour and the Atlantic Seaboard.
  • Upon return we will continue to the Bo-Kaap area. Formerly known as Malay Quarter, this picturesque corner of the city is renowned for its collection of colourful houses and cobblestone streets, it is the place where the Muslim community and many of the slaves were freed after the abolition of slavery in 1834.
  • We continue our journey to Company Gardens. This park and historical site were originally established in the early 1650s by the first European settlers. The gardens provided fresh fruits and vegetables to the boats that passed through the ports in search of provisions on their journey to the East in search of wealth.
  • Our next stop will be at Castle of Good Hope, the oldest colonial building in South Africa. Built between 1666-1679 as a marine refuelling shop by the Dutch colonizers.
  • From here we will proceed to the historical Slave Lodge which is one of the oldest buildings in Cape Town. Built in 1679 by the Dutch East India Company, the building was initially used as housing for over 9000 slaves, convicts and the mentally ill up until the early 1800s when the building was converted into government offices. Today the historical building houses an array of exhibits that address the controversial and deeply ingrained history of slavery in South Africa.
  • We finalize our tour at the magnificent and picturesque Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, founded in 1913. The gardens encompasses five of South Africa’s six different biomes and is world renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape Flora it displays as well as for the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain
